Il Grammy è uno dei premi più importanti degli Stati Uniti, per i risultati conseguiti nel settore della musica. Originariamente si chiamava Gramophone Award, ma si sa, agli Yankee piacciono i diminutivi. È presentato dalla Recording Academy, un’associazione di artisti e tecnici statunitensi appartenenti all’industria musicale ed è considerato come il premio Oscar della musica.
Le attese parlavano in italiano con le nomination di Laura Pausini, candidata con Similares nella categoria Best Latin Album, Andrea Bocelli, nominato nella categoria Traditional Pop Vocal Album e il maestro Ennio Morricone, con addirittura due candidature per la colonna sonora e migliore Composizione Classica con L’Ultima Diligenza di Red Rock, entrambi dal film The Hateful Eight. Ma le attese sono state vane: nessuno di loro si è alzato per ritirare alcunché, peccato.
Beyoncé che ha fatto il botto con le nomination, ha vinto solo nella categoria miglior album (Lemonade): si è presentata sul palco vestita come una dea, lei e le sue ballerine con tanto di auerola in testa, forse voleva lanciare un messaggio sociopolitico, il risultato, a nostro parere è stato di pessimo gusto.
Cinque Grammy sono andati ad Adele e 4, postumi, a David Bowie, quello per la canzone Blackstar è stato ritirato dai suoi musicisti.
Allo Staples Center di Los Angeles però, protagonisti assoluti sono stati i problemi nelle esibizioni: Adele che ha aperto con un omaggio a George Michael cantando Fastlove si è interrotta e ha ripetuto il brano “per farlo meglio“. Lady Gaga, strepitosa come sempre, ha prestato il microfono al leader dei Metallica durante la canzone in cui duettavano perché non funzionava.
Siamo rincuorati, i problemi tecnici non capitano solo da noi in Italia!
